Work with us!

The Goyal lab’s rich interdisciplinary research program welcomes artists, biologists, chemists, clinicians, computer scientists, engineers, mathematicians, and physicists to work together and provide unique insights into biological systems. Yogesh is truly passionate about mentoring his students—who come from a wide range of socioeconomic, gender, and racial communities—have gone on to co-author publications, win awards, and have successful careers in academia and industry. Yogesh is happy to connect you to some of his current and past mentees if you’d like to know their experiences.

Graduate students: We have both experimental and theoretical projects, and we welcome students from DGP, MSTP, BME, and ChBE at Northwestern. Please email Yogesh to arrange a meeting for discussing possible projects. Some Evanston based programs, e.g. IBiS, have historically not let their students rotate in Chicago/medical school-based labs, so if our lab is of interest to you, we recommend applying to DGP or BME/ChBE. We are also open to exploring co-advising opportunities.

Postdocs: We have both experimental and theoretical projects and we welcome postdocs from all backgrounds. Please email Yogesh with a brief statement of your research interests and CV.

Technicians: Technical staff positions will be posted to the Northwestern Human Resources Careers page. Feel free to also get in touch by emailing Yogesh if you are interested.

Undergraduate and Masters Students: Please email Yogesh with a brief statement of your research interests and CV. Undergraduate students should only apply if they are really curious about research. Masters student should only apply if they plan to do a Master’s thesis or equivalent.
